Kudos to Jon Kleinberg (CS), David Shmoys (ORIE), Steve Strogatz (Math), Giles Hooker (Stats) and Kilian Weinberger (CS), who have been awarded a NSF Tripods Grant to build an initiative for “Data Science for Social Good.” Funds from the grant will be used to hire three postdoc positions to perform research in the intersections of CS, IS, OR, Stats, and Mathematics with a focus on research benefitting society and those without a voice.
