The most recent are listed first.
- In honor of the upcoming exam, Alexa Sharp has volunteered to
extend her office "hour" for this Thursday.
She will be in Upson 328 from 2:30 to 4:30 or 5, or whenever people stop asking
questions.

now online

- HW6 is now online.

- Answers to Review for Prelim I have been
corrected. Two mistakes were pointed out during Wednesday's
lecture. These have been corrected in the online version. A
third mistake has been found: in problem 2b, 4 was accidentally used in
place of 5. Curiously, the final answer was unaffected by this
mistake.
- Alexa Sharp will hold her Thursday office hour in Upson 328 instead of her
office. This is a permanent change for her Thursday office hour; her
Tuesday office hour remains in her office. Also, in honor of the upcoming exam, she has volunteered to
extend her "hour" for this Thursday to 2:00-3:45.

online.
- Review Questions for Prelim I are online.
The answers will be posted before Wednesday's class (probably late Tuesday).

request, those papers are available during Paul Chew's office hours.
- hw02sol.pdf is now online.
- Problem 5b on HW3 had a typo. It has been corrected to "Show that 5 | (n5 + 4n) for any
n." The exponent originally appeared incorrectly as 4 instead of
5.
- HW3 (due Friday, Feb 15) is online.
- Wednesday
(Feb 6) Lecture on Growth of Functions and Complexity of Algorithms is
online.
- hw01sol (a .pdf file) is now online.
- HW2 (due Friday, Feb 8) is now online.
- Office hours have been determined, but rooms are still being
reserved. The room information will be posted as soon as it is known.
- HW1 (due Friday, Feb 1) is now online.
- To simplify the process of distributing papers for grading, each homework
will consist of 3 parts. Each part must be turned in separately.
In other words, each of parts A, B, and C will be placed in separate piles
when homework is handed in on Friday.
- Normally, graded homework is handed back in a self-service stack. In
other words, your homework grade is not private. If you prefer more privacy,
clearly mark HOLD at the top of the first page of each piece (A, B,
and C) of your homework; I will hold these papers for pick-up during my
office hours.
