CUSD Team
The Cornell University Solar Decathlon (CUSD) Team consists of over 70 graduate and undergraduate students from numerous academic backgrounds, including architecture, business, and engineering.  The team has a common goal of researching, designing, constructing, and exhibiting a self-sustaining, solar living system designed to exceed the expectations of the Solar Decathlon Competition.

This solar living system will:

  • Transcend previous implementation of current technologies politically, environmentally, architecturally, and mechanically;
  • Employ the pinnacle of evolving technology to maximize the social and environmental impact toward our sustainable goals; and
  • Create a symbiotic relationship between the comfort, beauty, logic, and educational value inherent in every detail.

The CUSD team hopes that its participation in the Solar Decathlon Competition will promote awareness of energy-efficient innovations and will facilitate the technical, political, and cultural transition towards environmental sustainability and renewable energy.
