Educational Background

I attended Cascade High School of the Everett School District in Everett, Washington, graduating in 1995. Because of the wonderful Running Start program offered in Washington, I also was able to attend classes at Everett Community College during by junior and senior years of high school. I graduated with highest honors from there in 1995, receiving an associate's degree in mathematics.

During the following three years, I was a student in the Computer Science Department at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I finally completed a concurrent bachelor's/master's degree in 1998 with a double major in mathematical sciences. My master's project was a Smalltalk-to-JVM (Java virtual machine) compiler. I took lots of courses and had many great experiences there.

Now I'm in the Ph.D. program in computer science at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
