COURSE GRADING

CS 2024 is an S/U course. To earn an "S" in the course, you must accumulate 70 or more points.

Points can be earned in the following ways:

ASSIGNMENTS (40 points max)

There are 12 assignments in the course, graded on a scale of 0-100. We drop the lowest two scores and average the 10 highest assignments. We then multiply the average by 0.4 to calculate your assignment points.

PRELIMS (20 points each)

There are 2 prelims given during the semester. Each is graded on a scale of 0-100. We multiply each prelim score by 0.2 to calculate prelim points. Each prelim can earn a maximum of 20 points towards your final grade.

FINAL PROJECT (20 points)

Since the assignments and two prelims could net you a maximum of 80 points, there is a chance that you may already have done enough to pass the course without needing to complete a final project. However, if you haven't quite earned 70 points between the assignments and two prelims, the final project is there to give you another opportunity to earn the remaining points you need to pass the class. More details on the final project will be given during the semester. The final project is graded on a scale of 0-100 and the assigned grade is then multiplied by 0.2. The final project can earn a maximum of 20 points towards your final grade.
