Renee Mirka

Hello! I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department at Cornell University . Prior to this I received my M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego and my B.S. summa cum laude in Computer Science with a second major in Mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis where I also received the Outstanding Senior Award in Computer Science and Engineering and Highest Distinction in Mathematics. I was also fortunate to intern with the U.S. Department of Defense and MasterCard in the summers of 2014 and 2015, respectively. You can find a copy of my CV here .

My research interests lie broadly in the area of theoretical computer science and combinatorics. More specifically, I am interested in exploiting combinatorial structures to find efficient approximation algorithms and solve discrete optimization problems.

Teaching

I am currently a teaching assistant for CS 2850 Networks. In the past, I have had the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant and grader for a variety of courses. I have included the student evaluations for the courses for which I have them.
