2/21 Review Session reminder There is a Catch-up Review Session 3pm, Sunday 2/25, Kimball B11
(slide ID through card reader to get into the building)
2/21 P3 help Here's a notice from Mike Singer:
In an effort to help students with project 3, I will be holding an extra office hour this afternoon from 5-6pm. I'll be in Upson 328D, but there is a chance that I'll have to move. Please note that I have to leave promptly at 6pm since I have another meeting which begins then.
2/21 2/22 Lecture this thursday's lecture is important and i am going to invest a lot of energy in making it good, so please show up. here's the plan:
  • matlab is now working on my laptop, so i will be able to give live demos of using scripts and functions in matlab, including how to set the path.
  • i will show how i would set up the netscape, WinVN, and newsXpress newsreaders -- remember, the newsgroup is a required element of cs100M.
  • i will present only one new topic --tracing functions-- so i should be able to go at a reasonable pace and answer questions.
  • i will explain the steps i expected/hoped you would go through on P3, after which you can go to the online evaluation forms and let me know how reasonable or unreasonable my expectations are.
2/20 P3.4 reprieve I'm hearing that P3 is too long. Therefore, P3.4 will become part of P4, and generous bonus points will be awarded to those who finish P3.4 by the P3 due date.
2/18 UserName and Password The online grade and submission system wants your NetID (combination of your initials in lowercase and a number) as your (User)Name and the password we e-mailed you, not your Kerberos/NetID password. (Yes, it is totally logical and reasonable to want to use the same password. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to do that. Sometimes computers suck.)
2/15 Online Grades Prelim T1 core scores (bonuses will be posted later) are available online
2/14 Online Submission The system should be up now. Please try it out (1 bonus point for successfully submitting E4!) and let us know of any problems.
2/14 Project P3 All parts are up and have been further clarified.
2/12 Online Submission You should have received e-mail about your account for online submission of projects and exercises. If you haven't, please send e-mail to tyan@cs.cornell.edu (you can wait until after Prelim 1). Exercise E4 is to be submitted online.
2/10 Prelim 1 Review Topics, review questions, solutions to review questions have been posted. This was posted to the newsgroup by Tibor and Daisy:
Please be aware that Kimball Hall, and the buildings connected to it, are closed during the weekend. I was told that the entrance through Thurston Hall has a card reader. Swipe your card through that, and you should get in without any problem. We will *try* to open the door in the immediate vicinity of B11 (the one in the back of the building, near the parking lot).

Two AEW facilitators will be holding office hour on Sunday starting at 7:00pm. The duration will depend on demand. Location is tentatively set for Upson 205. (Check the three other classrooms next to rm 205 just in case.) ALL students, not just those in the CS100M AEW, can make use of this special office hour.

2/07 P2 registration This is not required, but please complete this P2 registration form; you can get a bonus point for doing so.
2/01 Lecture Fixed rules in 1/25 lecture and E2 solutions for evaluating an assignment statement.
