- Kay Wagner will hold extra office hours this week Tuesday 2:30-3:30 and Wednesday
3:30-4:30.

- Due date for A10 has been changed to Thursday April 30. Many of you
have a very rough week with physics and math prelims and the usual end of the semester
projects. So, with thanks to our graders for being flexible, we have been able to move the
due date to next Thursday (in lecture as usual). Good luck on all of your exams.

- Correction to lecture slides 19: Slide #6 is missing some parentheses. In the if clause
it should be c = (c+1) % size; In the else clause it should be r =
(r+1) % size; the parentheses are missing in both statements.

- A note about the skeleton for assignment 6: A curley brace was lost when the
skeleton was transfered from one server to another. As a result, if you downloaded the
skeleton before Wednesday night, you may find that you get an error message while running
the given code. If so, get yourself a new copy of the code from the web page, it has now
been fixed. Sorry for the problem.

Prelim 1 Review available.

- Erratum sample solution to problem 1c). The
solution should say that b is now 3, not c. Variable c does not change.

- Sample solutions to Assignment 2 are available as follows:
1. Everyone who worked alone gets a grading guide stapled to their assignment; there
is a sample solution on the back of the grading guide.
2. For people who worked in pairs, there is a guide/solution stapled to the
assignment, filed under the name of the first person listed, and there is also a separate
guide/solution, filed under the name of the second person listed.
3. People who did not turn in an assignment can pick up the guide/solution as a
handout. Please do not pickup this handout unless you
did not turn in an assignment; we have a limited number of copies.

Because of the prelim on Tuesday the assignments will be returned in Carpenter rather than

this Sunday at 3 pm.

- When reviewing for the prelim, skip over the discussion of the example called
Parameter_Passing (pp. 137-140). It includes some concepts we have not yet covered. Also
do not worry about understanding the method called area that appears on page 142. This
method has a return statement in it, which we have not yet discussed.
Erratum Truth table for && on page 185: The
last row should be true, not false, in the column on the right.

- Erratum Guide to CodeWarrior Java: To capture a
window in Windows, press Alt-Print Screen, not Ctrl-Print Screen as described in the
handout.

- Some of you are using the old version of code warrior (Code Warrior Pro 1) and then
trying to use the CUCS additions we have on our web page. These are not compatible. If you
did not already register your software with Metrowerks when you bought it, you should do
so now. By doing this you will receive the new version for free. In the meantime, you can
use the libraries supplied to students last semester. These should be fine for at least
the first two assignments.

- Installing CodeWarrior Pro 2 on your own computer: Some of you are having difficulty
getting CodeWarrior correctly installed. This seems to be mainly those of you who are
using PCs. For a detailed set of instructions on how to do the installation click here.
