Throughout the semester, students will work on an open-ended project, investigating material related to one of the recent course topics. The aim of the project is to explore the primary literature on the topic in more depth than covered in lectures. Successful course projects may serve as a starting point for research that eventually results in a conference publication.
Projects will be evaluated based on multiple components, with the following key dates.
Date | Component | Description |
---|---|---|
Oct | Project Proposal | 1 page proposal + meeting with TA/instructor |
4 Nov - 9 Dec |
Class Presentation | ~25 minute in-class presentation |
16 Dec | Project Report | 5-15 page written report |
