Peer review
Due: May 6, 2025
Based on solving an assignment problem from your preferences, each of you has been assigned to review one paper draft from a peer. Your peer review should be polite, professional, and helpful to both the authors and (I hope) to me. Remember that the prompt recommended a numerical method and a concrete data analysis problem to be solved, though not all papers will develop both sides to the same degree. Novelty is appreciated, but not strictly required.
Please make sure that in your reviews you include the following:
- A summary the main points of the work as you understand it.
- One or two main contributions or strong points.
- Any points that you would have liked to see developed better.
- Comments on
- Presentation: Were all the terms well defined? Was the logical flow clear? Were the examples illustrative? Were figures comprehensible?
- Theory: Was the theoretical framework adequately developed and explained? Do any mathematical arguments appear to be correct? Are the assumptions justified?
- Experiment: Were any experiments adequately developed and explained? Could someone else replicate the experiments? Do the experimental results justify any conclusions drawn?
- Related work: Was the bibliography and discussion of related work adequate? If not, what more might be needed?
- A list of any minor errors (typos, spelling errors, missing figure labels, etc) that should be corrected in a final draft.
