Announcements

This page contains all CS/CIS 530 announcements, most recent first.

  • 05/08/05: WS examples from the EJB book: There seem to be some problems. See this page for a discussion. Thanks to Hugo Fierro for pointing this out.

  • 05/05/05: Laptops must be turned in before 05/20/05. Return them to Kathy Carpenter (4115 Upson) during Cornell business hours. If your laptop has not been returned, I cannot submit a course grade for you.

  • 05/05/05: The promised Web Services EJB “Hello World” example writeup (detailed instructions using JBoss-IDE and WSCompile) will appear this evening here.

  • 05/05/05: Final Exam: As discussed in class, the final is a 48-hour take-home. You can get it any time between Saturday 05/07/05 around 4:00 PM and Thursday 05/18/05 around 4:00 PM. Standard method for getting it is to pick up hardcopy from Kathy Carpenter (4115 Upson) during Cornell business hours. You can pick it up at other times (within reason) by arranging for me to email you a PDF file. The point to enable us to record when you picked up the exam. You then turn it in within 48 hours on CMS.

  • 03/14/05: Here is prelim 1 as promised. It will be due in CMS on midnight of the 18th. Good luck!

  • 03/11/05: There is a newsgroup for CS530: it is cornell.class.cs530 on the NNTP server newsstand.cit.cornell.edu. It seems to work.

I shall use the newsgroup to post answers to any questions about the prelim. Serious bugs discovered in the prelim will also be announced here.

The project will begin in earnest right after break; so if you haven't yet found a partner you should use the newsgroup to help you do so.
