Course description
Transition to Java is designed to introduce the Java language basics and related programming concepts. It is not possible, nor worthwhile, in such a short course to cover all the packages, related technologies and application programming interfaces (APIs). However, the goal of this short course is to help students through the initial learning curve, provide experience working with Java and allow further self-study and use of the language, and the related technologies, as they develop. Upon completing this course, students should have adequate background for the Java programming components in upper-level courses. Refer to the lecture outline for more detailed course contents.
