3/31 R P4: figure title Some students have reported that in showSharpen, their intermediate title on the image (e.g., ``Please wait ... processing ...'') does not appear in the figure window. That appears to be a problem with the time it takes to send something to show on the screen. If you run into this problem, simply insert a short pause after changing the title (e.g., pause(.1)). That allows time for the figure to be updated before code execution continues.

2/24 R Clicker registration All students: Please click here to register your clicker. You must register online even if you have registered in class already.
Students who attempted in-class registration but were unsuccessful: Please email Prof. Fan with your NetID and clicker ID, in addition to registering online.
Issue: There appeared to be several cases where a student accidentally registered their clicker under another student's name during in-class registration (e.g., clicked the buttons on the wrong row on the scrolling list). We need to correct these registrations. Additionally CIT is updating the clicker software and needs the online registration.
If you have a used clicker whose ID is rubbed off, go to Phillips 318 computer lab or CIT (the CCC Building on the Ag Quad) and use their scanner/receiver to get the ID.

2/21 M Independent research opportunity The Personality, Attachment, and Control (PAC) Laboratory in the Psychology department uses techniques from human neuroscience, such as electroencephalogram (EEG) and event related potentials (ERP), and social and cognitive psychology to investigate and measure the processing of socially relevant information. Dr. Vivian Zayas is looking for students interested in pursuing independent research in which they would learn how to model neurophysiological data. Students who have a broad interest in psychology, cognitive science, information processing and/or related fields, and a strong background in mathematics and programming should contact Dr. Zayas directly (vs29@cornell.edu). Experience with MATLAB is highly encouraged. No prior training in neurophysiology is required, but the person must show a genuine interest in these areas.
