Email Gries

When sending email to Gries or practically anyone else in this course, make sure your mailer is configured so that it does NOT send html. Especially, don't use MIME or HTML in newsgroups and course email. We reserve the right to ignore email and newsgroup postings that use MIME or HTML.

To learn why MIME and HTML in email can be not only annoying but also dangerous and confusing, look at this web page. This web page also tells you how to turn off the generation of MIME or HTML pages, so that your mail is only straight text.

To see what your HTML-based email might look like to people with mailers that can't handle it (or who don't WANT to handle it), look here.
