CMS

All assignments should be submitted on the course CMS. If you don't have access to CMS, wait at least three days after you have enrolled in the course. You should be added automatically. If you still don't have access, you should contact the instructor.

Piazza

The course piazza is intended to provide a platform for students to seek help from and provide support for their peers. Participation on Piazza—including asking good questions and/or answering other students' questions—may be considered under "other factors" in determining your final course grade.

Piazza is not a replacement for office hours. The course staff will moderate the Piazza page, but they will not answer questions unless a question remains unanswered for more than 24 hours. Please plan accordingly.

Textbooks

There is no required textbook. However, the following optional textbooks have a large intersection with what we will cover:

  • Matt Bishop. Introduction to Computer Security. Addison-Wesley, Boston, MA, 2005. ISBN 0-321-24744-2. (ecopy)
  • Charles P. Pfleeger and Shari Lawrence Pfleeger. Analyzing Computer Security. Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River, NJ, 2011. ISBN 978-0-13-278946-2. (ecopy)
Both books are available for free through the Cornell library. Suggested readings will be listed on the course schedule as appropriate.
