Prelim 2 Regrades are Done

CMS has been updated in this regard. The exams will be in the hand back room (216 Gates) this afternoon.

A7 Corrected pdf

There were several typos in the original A7 handout. The steam rate is .006625 (not .06625). The demo modules ShowMonthlyBill (not BarPlot) and ShowDailyBill (not DailyBill) were misnamed. There was an off-by-error at the top of page 4, should be A[StartIndices[4],EndIndices[4]+1,:]. And at the end of section 4 it should read 96k to 96(k+1)-1.

Prelim 2 Grading Guide and Exam Pick-Up

The Pre2 Grading Guide

Pick-Up Procedure: Gates 216 (the Hand-Back Room), M-F, Noon-3:30pm. Leftovers after Monday will be brought to Labs. Leftovers after that will be returned to the Hand-Back Room.

Regrade procedure:

Carefully compare your solutions to what you find in this write-up.

If you would like us revisit the grading of a particular problem, write a message to that effect on the second page of the exam, i.e., on the page where the scores are reported. Do NOT write/alter any other page of the exam.

Give your exam to Prof. Van Loan no later than the April 30 lecture. Regrade requests denied after that.

Exams will be regraded and returned to the hand-back room Gates 216 by Monday March 23.

Two notes. (a) Your entire exam will be revisited for consistency with our partial credit guide, not just the problem(s) you cite. (b) A random subset of the exams have been photocopied. Asking us to regrade an answer that has been altered since the time of the exam is an extreme violation of academic integrity and will result in a course grade of F.

Finally, students who received a score <50 on this exam should make a point of meeting with somebody on the teaching staff to map out a study plan for these remaining weeks.
