  Course Description:
This project course is an exploration of the processes of computer game design and related technical concepts in animation, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, game networking, physics and music. Students will work in groups to develop projects of their own choosing. Weekly progress in group projects will be motivated by the students, and will ideally involve a mixture of technical and aesthetic content. Groups will be expected to create a week-by-week plan for each team member in the group. Final projects will be presented and evaluated by other groups in the class and possibly by the Part 1 students.

  Credits & Prerequisites:
3 credits in Fall/Spring, 0 in the Summer.
To take the Spring 2003 Part 2, you must have taken the Part 1, 2 or 3 Computer Game Design project from Fall 2002 with us.

  Syllabus:
This project has no syllabus as it is a student-motivated lab class. You will develop a group plan for completing your project which will include weekly goals for each team member.

Lectures are optional, and will go from 5:30pm to 6:15pm (overlapping with the end of Part 1)

  Grading, Attendance & Homework:
Final projects will be graded in the range of C to A+ based on the following criteria (in order):
  - Completion of the final project (a completed game)
  - Balance of technical and aesthetic content
  - Technical and aesthetic quality of the project
  - Final project presentations
  - Ability to work and communicate with your group
  - Group participation in class

Both instructors will give grades in the range of C to A+ based on the criteria above. These will be averaged to give your final project grade (averages above B will be rounded up, averages below B will be rounded down)

Your final project grade will be lowered by 1/2 grade letter for each attendance missed.
