About Me

Hi, I'm Edgar! A Hispanic student from Brownsville, Texas down literally right next to the Mexican Border! I am also the first person in my family to even attempt something like a PhD, so here's hoping it all goes well! Research wise, in my undergrad I studied Biochemistry and Computer Science and ended up majoring in both of them since I found them both really cool.
My research kind of reflects this, as I like working on problems at the intersection of biology and computer science, with my work most recently delving into the realm of population genetics! Apart from research, I'm an avid fan of all sorts of games, and I am also an avid reader.
