Laying the Utility Lines

These images evidently still need to be sorted and annotated...

In NY state water needs to be 3 horizontal feet away from just about anything else. Gas and electric need to be 18" apart. Electric needs to be 18" deep. I put gas 3' down and electric 18" above it in the same trench. The electric runs together with networking cable. The electric supply is "direct burial" cable (UF), the networking cable runs in a conduit (pretty cheap, actually) right next to it. Many of these things change state by state. Also, I got a special plastic pipe for the gas. I needed a bit over 100' and that was much, much cheaper and easier than the standard black iron stuff, but much, much harder to find. If contractors can't help you, try asking the gas company directly. Here they would have sold it to me, except that I found out too late.
