Professor Joseph Halpern was awarded with the 2016 Kampé de Fériet Award. The award was created for the recognition of significant works that reflect the spirit of late Professor Joseph Kampé de Fériet, a famous scientist in France who did substantial work in pure mathemathics, fluide mechanics, the theory of turbulence, statistical mechanics, and information theory. The award is presented to those with exceptional contributions to the field of information processing and management of uncertainty and is given on the occasion of each IPMU Conference.
