Claire Cardie is co PI on a three year, $2.4 million grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for work on developing accurate and robust techniques for extracting, summarizing, and tracking information about events and beliefs from free text. Four University Affiliate Centers received such funding; Claire is part of the University of Pittsburgh-led UAC together with the University of Utah.
