Paul Francis gave the keynote address at the IEEE International Workshop on Web Content Caching and Distribution held in France in September 2005. His presentation, titled "Network Issues in P2P", discussed several questions including these: What is the impact of increased volume on ISPs? How can it be mitigated? What can be done to allow P2P users to connect through firewalls and NATs? What does it mean for future Internet architectures?
