Main Point(s):
RSVP is a resource reservation protocol that
supports special requirements of multimedia application. It
accommodates heterogeneous receivers, adapts to multicast groups, and
exploits different resources for application requirements. Its modular
design is mostly independent of flow specification format and network
protocol. It has minimal control overhead and supports channel
switching. The main idea is that it is receivers instead of senders
reserve resources.
Possible Use(s):
For multimedia uses over networking.
