Review:
A Wrinkle in Time is a fabulous book which is part of a trilogy. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. The story is about a girl whose father is off on a secret government mission and she is having trouble at school, partially because of standard junior high awkwardness, partially because of her resentment of the towns people gossiping about her father's abscence and thinking he left their mother, and partially because of her attempts to defend her little brother from accusations of being retarded - which he very much isn't. She meets three women, or witches, who turn out to be much more than that and she and her brother and a friend get taken on an adventure through the galaxy which turns into a fight against evil. The trilogy as a whole has the theme of fighting the spirit of evil in the different manifestations by which it is invading the Earth and the universe.
