Review:
The Wheel of Time series is fun, but I get frustrated by it often. It goes on for so long, and there is lots of stuff that happens that seems unnecessary. It isn't clear to me that anything is gained by having the plot drag out for so long. I suspect that part of it is to give the feeling of being part of the saga - not finding out what happens right away but having to live through lots of daily stuff until things happen and seeing that everything comes in its own time. But I sometimes feel like we're being made to wait so that it will be a saga, rather than it being necessarily a saga and the waiting being inherent to the plot. There are also specific things which bug me about the books, but they are only relevant to people who have read the books...
