Description of Tasks

There were four tasks facing the management team. In order of increasing difficulty, these were:

1.

To develop software that allows a system manager to securely observe and control the behavior of the distributed telephony system at runtime.

2.

To specify a standard development environment for use by all group members. This included setting standards for system administration, programming language choice and use, supported operating systems, version control, and documentation.

3.

To procure and maintain all necessary equipment to create the standard development environment, and to administer access to and use of that equipment.

4.

To integrate all system components and verify the functionality of the complete system
