Announcements The course is based around the web site: www.cs.cornell.edu/Courses/cs5150/2014fa/. There you will find a description of the course with all the course materials, contact information for the instructor and the teaching assistant, information about grades, etc. Please note:
The course has two main components: Theoretical material This material is provided through the online course material. It will be summarized in the classes and evaluated in the four tests. The tests are held during scheduled class times. Each test has two questions with the best six questions counting for the final grade. The times for the tests have been fixed and there are no make-up times. See Tests on the web site for more information. Projects The projects are a central part of the course. They are real projects for real clients who intend to use the software in production. You will select your own project, from any branch of software development. Project teams are 6 to 8 people. A feasibility study and plan is due on September 19. Then there will be three major milestones each with a report and a group presentation. See Projects on the web site for more information. You should begin to form project teams immediately. Special announcement The Cornell Club of Northeast Ohio has an iPhone App Development Competition that might interest members of the course.
