Picpulse: Analytics Software for Fashion Brands and Retailers Client Amol M. Patnaik The company’s founder is a recent MBA graduate of Cornell's Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a former software engineer who worked on web applications at IBM and a management consultant at Deloitte. Student contact Jiang Jian (jj544@cornell.edu) who worked at Picpulse over the past summer as a user interaction designer is setting up a team for this project. If you are interested in joining the team, please contact Jiang. Background Picpulse is a start-up company based in New York City. It is a continuation of a project carried out as part of an entrepreneurship course in the MBA program. The company is advised by several luminaries in the fashion and technology industries. Project Requirements Picpulse is a software application for fashion brands and retailers to analyze and predict trends using the rich and relatively untapped imagery that exists in social media. The company officially started in June out of a Cornell entrepreneurship class, and already has 20+ retailers and brands signed up for the trial including Target and L’Oreal. The product’s front-end has been beautifully designed and specified and Picpulse is now currently looking for help to build out a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The team is distributed across New York, Ithaca, LA, and Paris. There’s a strong possibility the project could lead to full-time opportunities beyond the semester. The company is looking to develop using full Javascript web stack. Notes
