Ithaca Popcorn Company Client Amy Sindone The client is the undergraduate coordinator for the Information Science Department and also the owner of the Ithaca Popcorn Company. Background The Ithaca Popcorn Company is a start-up company that plans to provide a wide range of gourmet and classical popcorn. Initial customer will be stores and restaurants in the Ithaca area. Project Requirements The company needs a web based computer system that would have two major functions. The first is to advertise the company's products to a general audience. The second is a business to business site that would allow customers to select and order goods online. The project team will need to work closely with the client to specify the architecture of the system and define the scope of the first release. As the company grows this could become quite a complex system, but the first need is to have an attractive, functional system for the early stages of the company's development. The client has identified examples of similar sites and is working with a graphics designer. The team will have to pay particular attention to maintainability as the client expects to maintain the system herself. |
