Project

Neeyaa is an early stage start-up company in the education space to be based in Silicon Valley. The company is focused on providing tools for tutors to move online and conduct their business more efficiently.

They have two projects to offer (from which students may choose one due to limited client resources):

Enhance “Big Blue Button"

Big Blue Button is an open-source remote learning platform (check out bigbluebutton.org for details on the technology). This project would involve understanding the existing code (in Java) and adding additional features to it such as an equation editor and improved whiteboard. Then it would require streamlined integration into the company’s website (developed in Django).

Mobile version

Create a mobile application that offers pared down version of the existing website platform. This could either be a webapp suitable for multiple mobile devices or an iPhone/Android app depending on student interest.

Students should meet with the client and discuss which project would be most interesting, and to get to know a little bit more about the company. Students that are a part of this team could be offered future job opportunity if all goes well!
