iPhone Interface for Outside the Library

Objective

The client serves on the Library Outside the Library group which looks at ways to bring the Cornell Library, its services, and resources to users in non-library virtual spaces.

The group proposes an iPhone application that would provide quick and easy access to popular resources to which the library subscribes: e.g. the Oxford English Dictionary, Encyclopedia Britannica, ScienceDirect, Lexis/Nexis. To do this right, the application will need to cache the user's NetID credentials and then access the resources through the library proxy, since the iPhone will not be on a Cornell network. The group is open to alternate suggestions for iPhone applications that would promote access and discovery of library resources.
