Project Suggestion: Social Networking and Dating Software (Linking Spirits)
|
|
Client Raj Smith, CEO, New Age Data, raj@twcny.rr.com Social Networking and Dating Software (Linking Spirits) Dating software was one of the first and most successful applications developed on the internet. Much has had happened as the internet transitioned from the static web of the last decade to the so called Web 2.0. It is now possible to create sophisticated user profiles, add blogs, Wikis, and image galleries, and combine these services in new and different ways. Our client would like to develop a website that allows users to interact with other users for a variety of different relationships. Examples include dating, pen-pal, mentor-student relationships, big brother-big sister, friendships, and any other relationships that can be created from the user profiles and tools set up on the web site. How do we build a better relationship website? Tools include the use of sophisticated user profiles, database and search definitions, blogs, shared image galleries, video, internal email, newsletters, up-to-date myspace-type social networking capabilities, as well as other creative social networking solutions such as groups, forums and classified ads. At some point the users must transition from browsers to paying customers. What social networking (relationships) will users pay for? Our solution will be built in .net and MS SQL. It must include user authentication, user profiling, use of web parts (blogs, image galleries, newsletters, video galleries and video blogging) and ultimately it must be connected to an ecommerce gateway. |
