INFO 3300:
Data-Driven Web Applications
Do
you want to learn how to use a database system to power your data-driven
website? Do you want to learn how to build a data-driven web application, such
as Ebay, Craigslist, or a Facebook
Application? Do you want to learn how to analyze data that is generated by such
websites using powerful data mining methods? Then this course is for you.
Prerequisites:
CS/ENGRD 2110 and (INFO 2300 or permission of instructor)

- Required textbook: Raghu Ramakrishnan and
Johannes Gehrke. Database Management Systems (Third Edition), McGrawHill 2003. The textbook is available in the
Campus Bookstore.
- Course Management System: Handout, handin, and regrades of the
assignments will be done using the Course Management System, http://cms.csuglab.cornell.edu.
Extensive documentation for CMS is available through its on-line
help facility. If you added the course after the first day of classes

- Workload: The workload in this
class is relatively high, since you are expected to gain hands-on
experience with several new technologies. The lectures cover the concepts
behind these technologies; you will have to familiarize yourself with
implementations of these concepts as part of the homework assignments.
