CS212: Academic Integrity
Notes:
-
The word you in the following statements refers to the phrase,
you and your partner(s), if an assignment allows you to work with more
than person and you have chosen to do so.
-
The rules contained herein represent our adaptation of the
Department
of Computer Science Code and Cornell
University Code, to which you must also adhere.
Doing homework:
-
You may discuss work with other students. Generally, discussing
an algorithm, approach, or general form of code is acceptable. However,
cooperation should never involve other students possessing a copy of all,
or a portion of, your work, regardless of format.
-
You may not remove your partner's name from an assignment
unless you do not use each other's work.
Submitting homework:
-
The programs, exams, and other work that you submit must
generate the entire output you submit in your assignments.
-
You may not submit more than one assignment nor should your
name appear on more than one submission.
-
You may not alter your homework before submitting it for
a regrade.
What are the penalties?
-
We assign penalties on a case-by-case basis.
-
We hold you responsible in case of a violation.
-
We may lower your grade, fail you in CS212, request Cornell
University disciplinary action, and/or apply a permanent mark on your transcript.
Who should you contact?
-
Contact a member of the course staff immediately if you suspect
a violation of the Code of Academic Integrity.
