October 28  Homework 4 has been posted. You should contact me to schedule your viva voce exam to be held the week of Oct 31 - Nov 4 (if you have major work due that week, we can make appropriate arrangements for a different date individually). Allow about 20 minutes for this exam -- it will cover all the material from the course so far, though will focus on the work we've done more recently on sorting techniques, uses of interfaces and inheritance, and data structures. Do note that there will be a formal written (third) prelim on November 15th which will cover all the material covered by the 10th, but with special emphasis on sorting, induction, recursion, good class design, and threads. Please note also that for the lectures on Nov 15, 17, 22, 29 we will be meeting together with the regular cs100J class (in their usual meeting room: Kimball B11) and be talking about MatLab (my intitial notes for this are already up online).

October 18  A more carefully laid out list interface and implementation is in the notes section.

September 23  Prelim 1 will be held in Malott 251 from 7:30-9:00pm, Monday 26th September.

September 17  The second homework has been posted -- due Monday 26th September. This is a very open-ended question, and we will discuss some approaches to this in class on Tuesday. Reading the posted notes for last Thursday will be of significant help. Don't be shy to ask questions!!

September 11  If you haven't at some point sent me an email with your Cornell netID then please do so -- that way you can submit homework!! The effective due date has been moved to Tuesday to allow time for exactly these emails -- Check to see if you can log in to the CMS system; if to, the I have your netid already.

September 6  The first homework has been posted -- due Monday 12th September. There will probably not be infinitely many homeworks!

August 24  There is reasonable likelihood that the lecture will be offered twice to fit both the 9 and 11 am schedules.
