Welcome to the CS100a Fall 1999 Home Page

COM S 100 A is a 4-credit course designed to introduce students to elementary computer programming concepts.  It does not presume previous programming experience.  The course emphasizes analytical techniques and the development of correct algorithms, which is to say it emphasizes programming.  Browse this document to see if COM S 100 is the right course for you.

For the fall of 1999, the principal programming languages will be Java and Matlab, with greater emphasis on Java. All programming assignments are tested and run on interactive, stand-alone microcomputers, and are done using CodeWarrior Pro 5 and Matlab.
