PhD Students: Michael Stefanone

Hailing from the University at Buffalo, Michael’s undergraduate work centered upon organizational communication and effects of communication technologies. In 2001, he completed the Masters degree program at Cornell University, focusing on communication technology and human-computer interaction (HCI). His interests also include political communication and public opinion.

Current research topics include usability and needs-assessment for context/location aware technologies, on-line collaboration technology evaluation, and technologically-enhanced museum experiences. Pertinent HCI resesarch includes aspects of social navigation, metadata, and cognitive limits associated with pervasive, mobile computing within educational environments. Michael has been working with the HCI group since the spring of 2000.
