Proposed Timeline for 2006-07 CIS Annual Report
March 15
* Meet with CIS Dean, CS Chair, and other stakeholders to develop focus for annual report.
* Confirm CIS faculty members.
March 28
* Send out requests for text updates: bios, program descriptions, etc. (See checklist.) Two week deadline.
* Send out requests for alumni text, corporate and foundation interaction text and totals, and grant totals. Establish a reasonable deadline. Grant info/corp gift totals not finalized until after June 30. Text can be written earlier.
* Send out requests to faculty and staff for photos from events and images from projects.
* Begin search for designer.
April 9
* Establish highlights and features. (See checklist.)
* Write or collect, edit, and format text. Six week deadline.
* Collect and caption photos and images. Six week deadline.
May 15
* Meet with designer to approve design.
May 21
* All text and images go to designer. Faculty bios: three week deadline. Front sections: six week deadline. (Grant info and gift totals will come later.)
June 11
* Send out faculty bios for proofing. One week deadline.
June 18
* Edit faculty bios. Two day deadline.
July 2
* Send out proof to visibility committee, etc. Two day deadline.
July 5
* Edit proofs. One day deadline.
July 6
* Pass changes to designer. One week deadline.
* Get grant info and gift totals.
July 13
* Final pass on second proof by editor. One day deadline.
July 16
* Designer sends to printer. Three week deadline.
* Collect addresses of recipients. Order envelopes and labels.
(week of) August 6
* Annual report arrives.
August 13
* Send out requests for information for supplemental annual report. (See checklist.) Two week deadline.
September 3
* Complete supplemental annual report.
