Abstract
Fred B. Schneider: The mechanics of paper submission and review
Lots must happen between the birth of an idea and its publication in a conference
proceedings or professional journal. This talk will survey the least intellectually exciting
steps of that process:
o How to choose a venue for publication
o Exactly what the editor or program committee chair does after the
paper is received.
o How to write a referee report that is
helpful for the editor and author.
Hints on writing papers emerge from knowledge of these mechanics, and these
hints will be discussed.
