ABOUT ME

I am fifth-year PhD student in Computer Science at Cornell University and interested in building intelligent learning systems with humans.

My major advisor is Prof. Thorsten Joachims, working on Machine Learning. Before coming to Cornell, I received my M.Sc. degree from the University of Stuttgart and worked for three months at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich under the supervision of Prof. Hinrich Schütze.

I am fascinated by the research questions that arise when Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction and Econometrics meet. Currently, I am working on applying causal inference techniques to interactive systems, and also on how to make learning in interactive systems more effective by shaping the feedback data that the learning algorithm receives.

Please feel free to contact me about job opportunities or interesting research ideas.
