I am a 5th-year PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University funded by the Tri-Institutional Fellowship in Computational Biology and Medicine. My advisor is Uri Keich.

My research interest lies in developing algorithms and statistical methods for the analysis of biological data. Currently, I am working on problems for the identification of transcription factor binding sites (or broadly known as motif discovery). In the area of biology, I am particularly interested in the understanding of gene regulation, including transcriptional regulation.

Software
  • GIMSAN - web application/server for motif-discovery equipped with a practical and reliable statistical significance analysis. It is also available as a stand-alone application on Unix.
  • GibbsILR - motif-finder that optimizes for the incomplete likelihood ratio (ILR)
