Jim joined the Computer Science Department in July 2011, working on the PRL & CRASH projects under the direction of Professor Robert Constable. He also works part of his time preparing grant reports and project support for Professor Ken Birman. After 10 years in Maine, Jim has moved back to his home state with his wife and two sons. "The technical challenges, high standards and good natured people make working with the PRL/CS team interesting and rewarding", says Jim.

Personal
I have a wife, two sons (ages 4 and 6), and two cats. Our extended family is scattered from Rochester to Corning to Syracuse, and we spend a lot of time with our clan. Philosophically I am interested in personal growth through awareness of the implications of my inherent scientific dominant frame of thinking and integrating more social, spiritual, 'natural' and mental realms. To put it another way: I love watching Star Wars, but would prefer to live as an Ewok.

Things I am involved in:
- developing the new TREE neighborhood at EcoVillage Ithaca
- home schooling our kids
- teaching karate, I am a 3rd degree black-belt in Hayabusa/Tatsu-do Martial Arts
- hiking, although not seriously in the past few years
- camping
- cycling, including year round commuting when I lived in ME
- baking, bread mostly
- cooking
- gardening
- reading
- contra-dancing, occasionally--if we can stay up that late
- messing about in boats on Lamoka Lake
