Hello! My name is Anne Bracy and I am a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Cornell University with 15 years of teaching experience. I teach both introductory programming classes and systems classes. I am a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Senior Member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).
I am passionate about teaching and have been honored to receive many teaching awards, including the Cornell Bowers CIS Excellence Award in Teaching and Advising (2023), the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Professor of the Year (2019), the College of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award (2017), and also received the ACSU Faculty of the Year award (2016). I am also on the Faculty Board of Women in Computing at Cornell (WICC) and am the faculty advisor for Cornell Mundial FC (let's go!).
(back to the 3rd person) Prior to teaching at Cornell, Dr. Bracy was a Principal Lecturer and Coordinator of Undergraduate Research in Computer Science at Washington University in St Louis. She was also a Research Scientist at the Microarchitecture Research Lab at Intel in Santa Clara, California.
Dr Bracy received her PhD from University of Pennsylvania for her work on instruction fusion under the supervision of Dr. Amir Roth. Prior to her doctoral studies she was a student at Stanford University, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
