Welcome!

Welcome to my new web page! This is the first serious attempt I've ever made at keeping a web page up to date, so let me know if you have any suggestions. On my page, you'll find links to papers and programming tools that I find interesting and useful (respectively). Most of my programming is done in Java; hence most of the links I put up here will be for Java tools. I'm also a C coder when it needs to run fast, and I've dabbled in Squeak/Smalltalk, Scheme, C++, and of course, BASIC.

My research interests are heavily concentrated in the area of computer graphics, and as such I'll have links posted to cool new papers, SIGGRAPH, etc. My specific area of interest has thus far been in realistic rendering through highly accurate approximation methods or full Monte Carlo rendering. I also tend to get excited about high intensity displays, tone mapping, and occaisionally colorimetry.

This semster (spring 2005), I am a TA for COMS 431, a course on digital libraries, web information systems, metadata, and other related topics. It is taught by Carl Lagoze, and as the course web page is kept under Blackboard.

Last semester (fall 2004), I'll was a TA for COMS 465 at Cornell, the introductory graphics course. It was taught by Dr. Steve Marschner, and the web page is listed on the left under "Cornell Links".

Outside the world of computer science, I am an avid gamer, although somehow my ability to play video games has sharply declined since the end of high school. I am a movie buff and a reader as well. Not to sound as if every activity I enjoy is completely sedentary though, I also like to go backpacking and camping, and I try to lift and run every so often.
