Using
FrontPage 98 |
| Menu & Toolbar |
The menu and toolbar for the FrontPage Explorer appear at the top of the Explorer window. | |
| The menu consists of the
normal commands you see in most Windows programs: File, Edit, View, Tools, and Help. The icons on the toolbar are simply shortcuts to things you can also do in the menus. The most important of these are "New Page" (which creates a new HTML document), the X button (deletes whatever happens to be selected at that time...use with care), and the button which has the red feather quill over a white page--that's the FrontPage Editor icon, and it opens the FrontPage Editor. |
| Views | The Views bar presents the
files contained in a web in different ways. The most useful of these is the Folders view,
which shows what directories and files are in the web. The Hyperlinks view allows you to
see which pages are linked to which other pages, while the Hyperlink Status view analyzes
the files in the current web for broken links. We won't be dealing with the Navigation, Themes, or Tasks views. If you're interested in these, you can use the Help menu to read about them. The remainder of the Explorer window depends on which view is currently selected. We'll deal primarily with the Folders view. |
