| Creating a Table |
Another alternative is to choose Insert Table in the Table menu. From there, you can control the dimensions and other properties before the table is created. When you've created a new table, it will probably look like the one above does. There are a number of basic settings you can control by right-clicking within the table and choosing Table Properties. Among these:
You can also control the properties of individual cells by selecting a single cell, a group of cells, a row, or a column, right clicking within the selection, and choosing Cell Properties. The most useful settings are:
To use a table for placing elements on a page, set the Border Size to zero; though you will see an outline of the table in the FrontPage Editor window, the table borders will be invisible in a browser. Be careful in trying to control the layout of a page or tables too closely. Different browsers vary in how they display tables, so it's particularly important to check that they make sense in a few different browsers. |

| Copying a Table from Excel |
You can copy and paste the contents of an Excel worksheet directly into FrontPage without creating a table first. Just select the cells you want included in Excel, press Control-C, go to your page in the FrontPage Editor, and press Control-V. |
