Spring 2003: Course Notes

 

A guide to new and revised course offerings for Spring '03 in CS and related fields.

 

 

COM S/ECE 314: Computer Organization. [Update] Lec 02 and Sec 09-16 were created this morning, 10/29/02.  To get the CIDs, go here

 

COM S/ECE 314: Computer Organization. This course will offer two lecture times for the Spring 2003 semester: TR 10:10-11:25am and TR 11:40-12:55pm.  Since the second lecture has not been put into the system as of this date (10/28/02), we advise you to not lock in your pre-enrollment until you are able to add the lecture of your choice. Keeping your schedule unlocked does not affect your placement in your other spring courses. you will not be cut from the other engineering courses you have entered on your schedule.  Also, note that COM S 212 has been dropped as a prerequisite for COM S 314.

 

COM S/CIS 330: Applied Database Systems. The prerequisites have changed.  The only prerequisite for this course is COM S/EngrD 211.

COM S 414/415: Systems Programming and Operating Systems.  COMS 414/415 MUST be taken together in the spring semester, and there is no cap on enrollment.

 

COM S 417: Introduction to Computer Graphics.  The Spring '03 meeting time of COM S 417 has been changed, and the change is not yet in the system as of 10/28/02.  The new time is MWF 2:30-3:20pm.

 

COM S 682: Theory of Computing is NOT being offered in Spring '03.

 

COM S 683: Advanced Design and Analysis of Algorithms.  Instructor is John Hopcroft.
