What is GDIAC?

Housed in the rigorous academic environment of Cornell University, the GDIAC student body serves as a competitive base for recruitment into the game industry, as well as a diverse resource for collaborative projects and research.

What can we expect from GDIAC students?

Students from GDIAC typically have completed the CIS 300: Intro to Game Design course, which exposes students an essential real-world skillset including:

  1. Intensive and collaborative C++ programming.
  2. Digital art and digital music programming.
  3. Experience with project-oriented team dynamics and collaboration.
  4. Knowledge of project management, including setting milestones and scheduling deadlines.
  5. Guided practice and assessment in industry-related communication genres and contexts.

Most GDIAC students take courses in AI, computer graphics, networking, machine learning, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and cognitive psychology. Students educated in game design have technical knowledge embedded in experience working and creating in multi-disciplinary teams.
