Peru2000 - Gear

The Group

Simon, Eric, Martin, Jim, Simeon (5). This will be teams of 2 and 3, perhaps 2 and 2 if one is ill. Two teams gives us the possibility of separate objectives so we should account for this in the planning.

Gear - the original brain dump (slighly updated)

GROUP GEAR (one of, and basecamp stuff)

Base camp tents (1 Bibler pueblo (4p), 1 Simon's (3p))
Assault tents (3 bibler)

Food (again partly depends on how much we are cooked for, should
pick up pasta and such in Cuzco)
Condiments and spices (Eric to bring `Red Hot')
Cooking pot/s (2 MSR sets)
Spare stove (ie. 3 total)
Fuel bottles
Assuming we have base camp somewhere where we do not have to
melt water and that we have 5 days of assault fuel (1/4l/p/d)
and 8 days of camp/travel fuel (1/8l/p/d) gives
  us (5*1/4 + 8*1/8)*5 => approx 11 litres which includes
  fuel listed under team gear
GPS (Eric)
Guides (copies of sections from Biggar)

TEAM GEAR (two of, for assault)

First aid
- best two have two sets of drugs so that we have backup if a bag
gets lost or if we decide to have different objectives. Sleeping
  pills (melatonin?).
Topo map
Altimeter (Martin has 2)

Food that needs stove:
shared meals, soup, tea, hot choc, porridge.
Stove plus spares
Fuel bottles
  3 people * 4 days (melting) * 1/4 l/person/day = 3 litre
(the 1/4 l/per/day figure is 1/5 rounded up from Biggar => 1l each
  person for 3 days + 1 spare)
Cooking pot
