For close to 20 years John Holmes was the worlds best known male actor in the Adult Industry. With an estimate of over 10,000 sexual conquests. And a good portion of them were caught on film. The film _Boogie Nights_ was loosely based on his life. Depending on what you read witnesses say his penis was from 12 to 14 inches long. As the sexual revolution blossomed, and porn sub culture flourished John was the man. The porn business prospered greatly due to many of the movies he appeared in. He was King. Women craved him and men wanted to be him. Some of his most popular work was when he played "Johnny Wadd" private detective. He had one hell of a life. From his first hand accounts of the (Wonderland Murders aka Woodland murders). July 1, 1981 four people were bludgeoned to death. Police and investigators believed the murders were in retaliation for a robbery days prior to the murders. In which property of drug kingpin & porn groupie Adel Gharid Nasrallah aka Eddie Nash were taken. John Holmes was considered the link between Eddie Nash and the home in which the massacre took place. Allthough he and others professed his innocence. John may have been an unfortunate victim forced to watch the brutal murders. John was one of the first porn stars to push for AIDS testing in the porn industry. Yet ridiculed on his views toward AIDS testing by fellow actors and actresses. It is unclear on how he contracted the virus. But he strongly believed testing was needed for all actors & actresses in the porn industry. Even though many at the time believed it was a violation of their civil rights to privacy. He was married to former adult star Laurie Holmes aka Misty Dawn.
